Roadside Rescue Technician
Westbourne Motors provides emergency motoring assistance to stranded motorists across the country.The customer base is formed predominately from the national vehicle recovery organisations including Green Flag, AA & RAC. The family owned company operates a large, professional and diverse fleet of specialist rescue and recovery vehicles. For more serious faults that cannot be repaired at the roadside, the Company operates several fully equipped customer service sites including Basingstoke, Hickstead, Bristol.
The role is based in the Guildford area where you will be expected to be a pivotal part of ensuring the safety and well being of the motoring public during their time of need. This may be as the result of a mechanical breakdown or accident and rapid response is essential for customer satisfaction. Westbourne Motors are at the leading edge of training and development of our people which could be as you begin your career in the vehicle rescue and recovery industry, experience in our sector is not essential to be considered for the role.
Ideal candidates will be customer focussed with an outgoing positive personality, combined with the ability to show a career history working on a wide range of modern motor vehicles. A sound knowledge of vehicle electrics and diagnosticsof modern ignition and fuel systems are a big advantage. You will be a proven problem solver and self starter, able to work well without constant supervision and have the ability to produce work within agreed time limits. A flexible approach to the working day is needed, as meeting customer deadlines is an important factor. Due to the 24 hour, 365 days a year nature of our business, this role is based on a rotating shift pattern that will involve anti-social hours working both nights and weekends when required. The main shift pattern follows a 6 days on duty, 3 days off duty cycle comprising of varying 12 hour shifts. The role has large scope for additional earnings through regular overtime opportunities to suit the right kind of individual.
The minimum basic annual salary for the role is £19,000. All successful candidates will have access to a commission payment structure and roadside performance bonus which creates an O.T.E of £40k per annum.
Minimum Category B license with no more than 6 points is essential and all candidates will be subject to passing a CRB and local police authority vetting process.
