Laboratory Technician, Cell Culture - RabMAb Custom Service Team. About the role:. The successful candidate will be working in a small tissue culture team dedicated to the isolation and manufacture of custom-made antibodies for external customers. He/she will be hardworking, flexible, and able to function effectively in a fast-paced team environment. A willingness to work with high throughput automation and specialised equipment and for learning new techniques and methods, is essential. About the Team:. Abcam Custom Services utilizes RabMAb technology, our patented antibody technology, for the development of high quality rabbit monoclonals. Many pharma and biotech companies have benefited from our custom antibody development. As part of this team you will contribute to the discovery of antibodies which may be used in a wide variety of applications including IHC and in vitro diagnostics. Job Responsibilities:. In particular, the person recruited to this Laboratory Technician role will;. Routinely passage suspension and hybridoma cell lines,. Prepare specialised media, clone cell lines and support small-scale hybridoma productions. Document experiments and procedures by writing laboratory notebooks, presenting experimental data within internal meetings, and participate in the drafting of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations. Assist in developing and role modelling of a safe and efficient working environment in the Laboratory to ensure the safety of your colleagues and visitors. Ensure compliance to Laboratory SOPs and work within Abcam H & S, Ethical and Quality standards. About You. You will be educated to at least degree level in life sciences (or equivalent) with hands on experience with mammalian cell cultures. You will have experience of working in a team environment, commercial experience in Biotech/Pharma industry would be advantageous but not essential. Our ideal candidate will be a detail orientated team player with the ability to multi task and have good aseptic technique. Familiarity with high-throughput liquid handling instruments and robotics and experience in culturing hybridoma cell lines, performing cell fusions/selections or productions would be desirable.
