Electronics & Mechatronics Technician

Job description

We are seeking an Electronics/Mechatronics Technician to join the Faculty of Environment and Technology's Technical Services team which is comprised of 40 staff providing a wide range of integrated technical support and assistance to students and staff in the four departments in the Faculty.


The role is closely associated with the activities of the Department of Engineering, Design and Mathematics.  The Department offers a very broad range of degrees – Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive and Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics and Statistics.


This role requires skills and experience in the area of analogue and digital electronics.  You will have experience of working in a technical environment in Higher Education and/or have broad based industrial experience working in an electronic/mechatronic engineering environment.  You will provide technical demonstration & instruction to students and specialist Laboratory and Workshop.


You will also provide support in our Robotics Teaching Laboratories and the Power Systems Research Laboratory.  You must be able to communicate clearly and manage your time well in a busy environment.


A degree, technical qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline will be required.
