Science Technician

Job description

Exciting new opportunity for a Science Technician at a school in Leicestershire.

Your new company
You will be working for an 'Outstanding' ofsted rated school based on the outskirts of Leicester. The school is a secondary school that serves the educational needs of a large and diverse area of South Leicester and is unique as the only multi faith girls' state school in Leicestershire, educating students aged 11-16 from across the city.

Your new role
You will be working within the Science department to support the Science teachers in a technician capacity. Your day to day duties will include class preparation, preparation of equipment, liquids and any other supplies required for the lessons. Other duties include making sure all equipment is in good working order, all solutions/equipment is stored and handled correctly and ensuring the science laboratories and areas are clean and tidy ready for the next class.
Hours of working are Monday - Friday 815/30am - 330/4pm term time only.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally already have worked in a school environment as a Science technician or be a recent Science graduate (or relevant degree) from University who has laboratory experience or undertaken a student placement as a technician.

What you'll get in return
You will be paid an hourly rate of £8.41ph up to £9.00ph if you have experience.
