So, what will the role of IT Technician entail?

Reporting to the Business Support Manager, as the IT Technician, you’ll be responsible for providing first line IT helpdesk service to all internal and external staff and act as a proactive network administrator. Your duties and responsibilities will include although not be limited to:

• Logging, responding and actioning all IT service requests
• Escalating issues to second tier support
• Maintaining the ‘standardisation’ platform and subsequent documentation and asset register
• Assisting in the project management of all new installations or upgrades and engineering related solutions for various project and operational needs
• Rebuilding or installing new workstations / servers, and configuring hardware, peripherals, servicers, settings, directories, storage, etc.
• Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures
• Undertaking daily backups and maintaining a secure network
• Developing and delivering end user training to a variety of audiences
• Identifying and recommending improvements
• Supporting business based applications
• Configuring meeting rooms for technical requirements
• Purchasing hardware as required and reducing supplier costs

What will I need to be considered for this IT Technician vacancy?

• Previous experience in first line software and hardware support and network administration
• A good understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Office and SharePoint
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Superb customer service skills with the ability to react to needs promptly
• Proactive approach to work with the ability to work independently
• Ability to build positive relationships and work efficiently as part of a team
• A valid UK Driving Licence

Formal IT qualifications and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be advantageous although not essential.

Salary: £25,000

Enhanced Benefits: Annual leave entitlement of 21 days plus bank holidays, rising to 23 days plus bank holidays after 12 months, along with pension and life insurance.

Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business needs.

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Tattenhall, near Chester. Extensive travel within the UK and potentially overseas will be required from time to time, including being away for several days at a time.
