Team Leader | South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Liaison Psychiatry at the South London &Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM), a member of King’s Health Partners (KHP). We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Team Leader for our rapidly expanding 24/7 Mental Health Liaison Service in Croydon to work alongside two consultants, a clinical psychologist, an occupational therapist, a team of Band 6 nurses and 4 junior doctors. Your core hours will be Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00

You will need to be an enthusiastic and experienced registered Mental Health Nurse, with experience of team leadership, who is interested in developing your existing management and leadership skills in a general hospital. Training opportunities for courses such as Learning to Lead are available through SLAM Partners.

Croydon University Hospital (CUH) is a busy 500-bedded urban hospital in the midst of an £18 million redevelopment. Facilities include a new simulation centre, an on-site crèche, two cafeterias, two coffee shops and an M &S Food supermarket. West Croydon Overground &British Rail Stations are 10 minutes away and Boxpark Croydon 20 minutes. The area has excellent schools both in the state and private sectors. Mental health care for patients who attend CUH is delivered by the Croydon Mental Health Liaison service provided by SLAM. The service moves into an ageless hub along with the Older Adult Liaison Psychiatry service and the CAMHS Crisis service in autumn 2017. There is an established Alcohol Liaison service and a MacMillan Cancer Psychiatry service.

This service also attracts local and international placements, for students across disciplines including a new physician associate rotation from St George’s Medical School starting this year.

This advert closes on Friday 20 Oct 2017
