An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician to provide shift cover within the Process Control department of Speciality Steels at the sites in South Yorkshire. The Process Control department is an established team of professional engineers who undertake an efficient and flexible service focused on business and customer needs on a 24 hour, 7 days per week basis. Therefore to support the team you would be required to work 12 Hours shifts (to include some weekends), working 4 on 5 off & 5 on 4 off.

The Process Control department provides safe and efficient operational services including; the maintenance, quality assurance and development of a wide range of process control equipment, ensure continued compliance with relevant company / statutory standards and accreditation for customer quality assurances.

Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring that plant, departmental personnel and contractors operate within and comply with both company policy and statutory Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. You will undertake the maintenance and quality assurance procedures for the process control equipment and plant across all the company sites and will contribute to the team’s continuous improvement of plant and equipment. Ensuring all work is completed to department standards you will design and implement new applications or system enhancements to support business improvements and will maintain asset availability and efficiency through planned and reactive maintenance activities, considering the company asset management framework (CAMF) / statutory responsibilities, plant histories, fault finding techniques, delay analyses and using own knowledge of process, and plant.

Our ideal candidate will be educated in Electrical Engineering (HNC level or equivalent) with an electrical based apprenticeship or similar and working knowledge of Electrical Safety, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation is essential. You will have an enthusiasm for engineering with a desire to work within a manufacturing environment and an awareness of Quality Management Systems and External Auditing. A clean driving license is also essential as is a willingness to work at any site within Speciality within South Yorkshire.

We are keen to hear from self-motivated problem solvers with working knowledge in instrumentation and control, PLC and PC systems and languages, closed circuit TV systems, testing of atmospheres in confined spaces, process Safety and Quality Standards, Procedure and Auditing inc; ISO9001, TS 16949, AS9100, ISO 17025 and NADCAP.
