IT Support Technician / Trainee Software Developer

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and dynamic software development company based in Carmarthen.

Tonic Solutions builds and maintains systems, online presence and communication software for customers mostly within the sales industry and are looking for the right individual to join our team.

The right candidate should be familiar with Windows and Linux based operating systems and have an interest in programming. Experience with PHP and MySQL is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Experience with Javascript, Perl scripting and/or the Wordpress website system is a bonus.

Day-to-day duties will include:

·        Liasing with customers via telephone and email to report and resolve common issues that arise from their use of our systems or escalate and plan resolutions for larger or more detailed requests.

·        Testing software updates and writing bug reports if applicable

·        Writing documentation for software products for customers

·        Managing Linux Servers and associated applications

·        Creating and maintaining software backups

·        Managing the company and client’s websites

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in the Software industry to gain a foothold within the industry and develop their skillset through vocational training. There are no formal education requirements.
