Design and Technology Technician

Job description

The school is to become the first 318 All Through School in Caerphilly County Borough Council from 8 January 2018.
We are looking for a person who can support both the Design and Technology Departmen at the school.
Design and Technology Technician
The successful candidate should have some knowledge of laser cutting, materials and be able to provide basic machine maintenance.
e.g manufacture of jigs, components and other items needed by the department can school.
Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff, the succesful canddate will provide general support in a specific curricula/resource area, including:
Maintenance of specialist equipment, check for quality/safety, undertake repairs/modifications within own capabilities and report other damages/needs
Maintain records as requested
Abilty to carry out minor repairs and maintenance
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014 all Learning Support staff in schools, (which includes the post referred to herein), must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016.
Your employment will be subject to satisfactory documentary evidence of registration, and continuing registration, as a Learning Support Assistant with the EWC.
It is your responsibility to ensure you register and continue to register as part of your terms and conditions of employment.
