Science Technician (Chemistry)

Job description

We are looking to appoint an experienced, wellorganised and responsible person to join us as a Chemistry Science Technician. Your main responsibilities will include preparing and testing classroom experiments including those for A level chemistry, maintaining equipment inventories, performing risk assessments and carrying out the safe disposal of waste.

There is daily contact with students and adults plus opportunities to assist in class or perform demonstrations when requested. The post requires you to have good attention to detail, a willingness to learn new skills, the ability to communicate on all levels and to work as a team.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a laboratory environment and ideally an A Level or higher qualification in a Science, preferably chemistry. Experience of working in a school, College or University teaching laboratory would also be ideal.
