Job description

Pharmacy Technician – Electronic Prescribing

Band 5

Two full time pharmacy technicians are required; staff wanting part time work or job share may be considered for this role.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Service is seeking to appoint two motivated and dynamic pharmacy technicians to join our pharmacy team. Their role will be to support the implementation and delivery of Electronic Prescribing EP across the Trust. They will have a desire to see matters from a systems perspective, acquiring key skills and knowledge as they progress allowing them to support the changes in the way we work.

They will support the Senior and Specialist Clinical Pharmacists in Electronic Prescribing and should be determined in their approach to be able influence healthcare professionals across the spectrum. We can offer them the opportunity to support the provision of care of the highest standards for our patients.

The posts will help shape the way the EP project delivers key benefits to the organisation in terms of safety, cost and effectiveness.

The pharmacy technicians will ideally have a hospital background and will support the delivery of ward based, in-patient and out-patient pharmacy services.

The candidates will be registered pharmacy technicians with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have an Accuracy Checking Technician qualification.

These posts will focus on the delivery of EP, collaborating with senior pharmacy colleagues and the IT department. In collaboration with our senior pharmacy technicians you will ensure ward based services are safe, effective and caring.
