A well qualified, energetic and well motivated Technology Technician is required to support the teaching of Technology, service the Technology area and to perform related duties as required.

The successful candidate will provide technical and general practical support to the Design and Technology Department to ensure that students have access to the appropriate tools and resources, and receive the best possible guidance and support. In particular, the Design and Technology Technician will prepare and order materials, ensure tools and equipment are in good working order, manage equipment budgets and make orders, ensure department and work areas are kept clean and safe, and be able to assist students during lessons.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals with a proven track record of excellence. Candidates should be able to demonstrate extensive experience using machine and hand tools and have a keen and broad interest in 3D Product Design and developments in Technology and Engineering, including experience of working with CAD and CAM. The role will require strong administrative and communication skills combined with the ability provide an empathetic approach within an academic environment. Computer skills are important, and the willingness to develop in this area with inhouse training would be essential.
