Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement Services

Job description

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust is an integrated care organisation.
The Trust has 3 Pharmacies, 2 on the City site one of which is in the Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and 1 on the Sandwell site which also supplies Rowley Regis Hospital and Leasowes Intermediate Care Centre.
We are planning our move to the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital early 2019.
The department employs over 140 staff which includes Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Dispensers, Pharmacy Assistants and clerical staff.
The Pharmacy Procurement team purchase medicines for the Trust and the annual spend is approximately £30 million. The medicines purchased include homecare medicines, non-tariff drugs, NICE approved drugs, unlicensed medicines, formulary and non-formulary medicines.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, self motivated and adaptable technician with good communication and interpersonal skills to take on this challenging post.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in leading the procurement team to provide a safe, efficient and cost effective service.
The post will: challenge your problem solving skills, stretch your organisational skills and expand your leadership skills.
As the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Procurement you will require significant of working in a busy pharmacy procurement service.
You will also be required to carry out some core pharmacy technician duties on a sessional basis.
