Pharmacy Technician Higher Level

Job description

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provides inpatient and community-based mental health care across the North West, covering Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Prestwich, Salford and Trafford and extending as far as Cumbria.The post holder will be expected to lead the team of technical staff in the Trust satellite pharmacies, co-ordinate the supply of clozapine, participate in service developments to improve patient care and increase efficiency e.g. accuracy checking scheme and ward-based role, assist in the delivery of post-graduate level medicines management training to qualified nursing staff and supervise and train new pharmacy staff and students.Duties will include the provision of quality pharmacy services in dispensing of medication, accuracy checking of dispensed items, ward based clinical services to include medicines reconciliation, recording of drug histories and assessment of patient’s own medication, stock
control and handling of routine drug queries.Candidates must be registered pharmacy technicians with the General Pharmaceutical Council in accordance with mandatory professional requirements, hold the BTEC Professional Diploma in Dispensing Checking and have current experience hospital pharmacy plus an interest in the specialised field of mental health.
