IT Software Support Assistant


Opportunity for a bright articulate person who is good with computers and good with people to join a small friendly local company.


Job description :

IT software support assistant providing support and customer services via support tickets, telephone and remote assistance for our Transactor Dental Laboratory Software.


Training will be given to gradually increase your skill set.


Experience of following required:


Microsoft Windows

Office application suites (MS Office, Open Office)

Simple networking


Experience of any of the following technology areas an advantage:


MS Visual Studio, SQL, Databases, Website design, Wordpress, Invoicing and/or book-keeping


Typical duties:

Monitoring incoming support tickets or emails. Taking support phone calls.  Contacting customers, by phone or by email as appropriate, providing a solution and if possible directing the customer to FAQs and Help guide. Difficult issues can be redirected to a colleague. Logging the issue in customer records. Updating the KB and help docs.


Our customers love our product and customer services and our word-of-mouth reputation is very important.


Skills required:

Good natural phone manner. Ability to learn quickly, solve problems and remain calm and confident. Good at writing polite, non-verbose, clear emails.


Opportunities to explore or develop skills in one or more of the following areas: Computer programming, SQL, technical help writing, website design.



£18500 p/a to start. 37.5 hrs per week. subject to review after 6 months.  Standard minimum holidays.


Probationary period 6 months subject to review after 1 month.
