Two year fixed term training contract from 3rd September 2018 with a nationally recognised accredited training provider, to gain skills and knowledge and study for a City and Guilds level 3 diploma in pharmacy services and NVQ level 3 technical diploma in pharmacy.
These are the qualifications essential for eligibility for registration and a career as a professional in the pharmacy as a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). There is a wide, varied and rewarding career potential on qualifying and registration.
As a major teaching Trust our pharmacy department has a wide variety of pharmacy technician posts and this is your opportunity to train and be supported to register as a Pharmacy Technician in those areas. Our pharmacy technician workforce is key to delivering excellent patient care and our experienced Pharmacy Training team has an impressive record of delivering in-house training to meet the range of experience required. Our training is externally audited and recognised as giving a high standard of support and provision.
Key aspects of the post include:
Working on rotation at various pharmacy sites within the Trust to gain a portfolio of experience, knowledge and competencies.
Must have 5 GCSE’s grades A to C or 4 to 9 or proven equivalent*, which must include English, Maths and Science. * (Candidates must prove equivalence at application stage).
Must be able and willing to follow on-line academic and in house practical training course and commit up to 10 hours a week of own time for private study.
Must be able to work consistently in a professional and responsible manner to high levels of accuracy and concentration, striving for excellence.
Must have a professional and responsible attitude and behaviour, good work ethic, and able to adapt to working in a variety of multidisciplinary teams. .
The department currently works a variety of hours between 8.00am and 7pm to meet the needs of the patients and service for the provision of a 7 day Pharmacy Service. Hours are determined by the section you are training in and include evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota.
