Airbus, the world’s leading Aircraft manufacturer has exciting new job opportunities to join its Engineering teams at Filton, Bristol.
Core activities include the design, engineering and support for Airbus wings, fuel systems and landing gear Integration. We develop our people to work on systems, structures and aerodynamics research, development and test facilities.

There is an opening within the Airbus Aerodynamics team for a creative and enthusiastic individual to shape the future Airbus aircraft product range in Filton. Within the role there are opportunities to get hands on experience in the use of simulation, experimentation and flight test validation of aircraft level Aerodynamic assessments.
You will have the challenge of working within an international department interacting with suppliers, customers and colleagues based across Europe, America and Asia to achieve the next revolution in aircraft design.
Tasks & accountabilities
o Design, optimise and validate external aircraft shape modifications
o Deliver aircraft level performance, handling qualities and loads assessments
o Collaborate across project teams and disciplines to secure multi-disciplinary design solutions meeting customer requirements, delivering on time cost and quality
o Provide Aerodynamic support to manufacturing plants to ensure Aerodynamic standards are not compromised whilst maintaining an efficient manufacturing process
o Provide Aerodynamic support to airlines ensuring aircraft utilisation is maximised
o Contribute to and define future Aerodynamic processes and technologies to keep Airbus at the forefront of innovation
As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
Required skills / experience
o Degree [or 5years previous industry experience ] in a relevant discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), with an eagerness to learn and develop
o Inquisitiveness to question and challenge the status quo
o Aptitude for complex problem solving and innovation
o Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluency in English
o Team player with a strong customer focus
o Willingness to travel internationally
Desirable but not essential skills
o An understanding of testing techniques, simulation techniques and their implications (for example CFD, wind tunnel testing, flight testing…)
o Experience in big data analytic techniques and their application
o Knowledge of systems engineering and systems development
o Knowledge and use of general purpose coding languages (for example Python, matlab…)
o Ability to technically steer and support other team members or sub-contractors operationally
