Job description

1st Line Service Desk Technician


Based in the heart of North Walsham, Wiggly-Amps Ltd is an established company specialising in delivering software and hardware solutions to businesses across the world and to the NHS (predominantly in the primary care sector).

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following core competencies to a high level and use these to the full in their work and, whilst previous applicable experience is desirable, it's not essential.

Experience


This is an IT related post, and we're looking for you to demonstrate your competence in this field. Examples of things you should mention in your application are:

  • Formal IT training

  • Previous customer support experience

  • Understanding of Operating Systems and Hardware

  • Understanding of Internet browsers and their configurations (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc)

  • Expertise in any software or hardware package.

  • Basic network understanding


Role


Although not an exclusive list, your responsibilities will predominantly be:

  • Providing telephone support for our bespoke software products.

  • Dealing with sometimes non-technical customers and conveying complex IT concepts in simple terms.

  • Troubleshooting a variety of IT-related issues and resolving user issues.

  • Working on your own initiative and making balanced decisions.

  • Carrying out a variety of general admin tasks in browser and “Office” based applications.

  • Some preparation of hardware for dispatch by courier.


Working hours: 08:00 - 17:00 with an hour lunch break.
